This international webinar series is an opportunity for Southeast Asian nurses to build relationships and disseminate their nursing and health-related knowledge.

In partnerships with Visayas State University and Journal of Caring and Health Science, this webinar provides an opportunity for Filipino nurses to build relationships and disseminate their nursing and health-related knowledge. Presentors are recent Ph.D nursing graduates from various higher educational institutions in the Philippines and abroad.

The theme for this inaugural webinar held last 23 November 2019 was 'Advancing Nursing Research in the Philippines' with Prof. Brian Vasquez, RN, Ph.D as a keynote speaker. In the 2nd edition which took place on 25 September 2020, the theme was 'Knowledge Development in Nursing for a Better Health, Better Philippines' with Prof. Nita Carrington as a keynote speaker. On 24 September 2021, the third edition has its theme was 'Transforming Nursing Practice through Research' with Prof. Edna Magpantay-Monroe (Chaminade University) as the keynote speaker and Assoc. Professor Jeanette Ignacio (National University of Singapore) provided the closing remarks.

The learner outcomes for the webinar were to:

  • Exchange novel scientific ideas to support the generation of nursing research

  • Describe how nursing research can influence the overall health of the country

  • Discuss innovative strategies for nursing research in the country.

The three editions of the Mindanao International Nursing Seminar were held at the University of Mindanao (Prof. Violeta Lopez, RN, Ph.D, FACN), Central Mindanao University (Dr. Johnrich Randall Levine), and Sulu State College (Dr. Rizal Grande). Coordinated by Notre Dame of Tacurong College, the 4th edition (Prof. Claudia Lai, RN, PhD, FACN) and 5th (Prof. Mary Diose Ramos, RN, PhD) edition were delivered virtually.


This is a project which aims to establish a database of digital versions of nursing doctoral dissertations/theses produced by Filipino nurses.


St. John of God Senior Leadership Award

This award will be given to a maximum of three graduating seniors who have consistently worked and succeeded in enriching and impacting student life and is committed to the values of Student Life throughout their career at their university/college. Nomination should be received by 30th of March 2017

Eligibility:


● Undergraduate nursing student with a minimum GPA 85 without the benefit of rounding.

● Must be a graduating student in 2017.

● Individual has contributed to making a positive impact on the campus climate and has demonstrated committed involvement in clubs, organizations, programs, or other area of campus involvement.

● Individual acts as an inspiration to others, modeling the way for a more just and humane world and is committed to working with and for others.

● Participation was above & beyond the general requirements given by academic or co-curricular programs.

● Must not be on academic or non-academic probation for the last four semesters including second semester 2016.

St. Camillus de Lellis Nursing Award

The St. Camillus de Lellis Nursing Award is presented to an undergraduate nursing student who has overcome difficult circumstances in their lives with grace, courage, and strength and inspires others by his or her example. The nomination should be received by the 30th of March.


Eligibility:


● Undergraduate student with a minimum GPA 85 without the benefit of rounding.

● Individual exemplifies courage in the face of difficult personal circumstances and inspires others by their example. Difficult circumstances may include an illness or physical disability, financial hardship or a family tragedy.

● Must not be on academic or non-academic probation for the last four semesters including second semester 2016.
