Salvador Named Fellow of the ISQUA

Jordan Tovera Salvador, RN, Ph.D received one of the quality and safety in healthcare profession’s highest honors when he was inducted as a fellow of the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQUA) at a ceremony held at the Society’s 34th International Scientific Meeting and Conference in London on 1- 4 October 2017.Dr. Salvador has the distinction of being one of the few nurses and Filipinos to receive this honor.

Presently, he is the youngest PhD degree holder and Assistant Professor of Nursing at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University. Amongst his positions are Chairperson/Director of Quality Assurance and Accreditation, Supervisor of Evaluation and Assessment, Member of Strategic, Action Plan and Risk Management Unit and a University Mentor/Fellow for Teaching and Learning at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia and he is currently a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Education graduating student at St. Paul University Manila (Philippines). 

Furthermore, he was one of the key drivers who led the national college accreditation and later on received the full accreditation status from the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA) on the 2nd quarter of 2017. Only the top and best universities and colleges could surpass the challenges of this accreditation body. This had been his major contribution as one of the youngest nurse educators of administrative and teaching duties as faculty of the university.

Dr. Salvador’s passion in nursing and research were evidently seen through his works and actions. In fact, he has been invited as conference speaker and presenter in various international and local countries like Jordan, South Africa, Armenia, Georgia, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Japan, France, Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, United States of America, Ireland, United Kingdom, Turkey and Philippines to share and discuss his projects and advocacy. Among his research works published in internationally peer-reviewed journals and books includes Filipino Elderly Advocacy called “HOPE (Holistic Outlook for Pinoy Elderly) Beyond the Aging Lines”, Teenage Pregnancy, Nurse Bullying and Phenomenological studies about expatriate nurses in different parts of the world.  

“Dr. Salvador has focused much of his career on quality of health care, both in instruction and practice,” said Joseph Andrew Pepito, RN, MAN, the Senior Executive Officer of Beta Nu Delta Nursing Society. “We are very proud of him and are delighted that he has achieved this distinction.”
