JP Catalan elected as the new PNA Corporate Secretary

Beta Nu Delta Nursing Society is pleased to announce that one of its members was recently elected as the new Corporate Secretary of the Philippine Nurses Association.

Thirty-one year old Jed Patrick Catalan is concurrently the PNA Governor of the Caraga Region and a pediatric critical care staff nurse of Adela Serra Ty Memorial Medical Center. 

 A freelance lead consultant to various funded projects specifically on social-health innovations, health-caring leadership/equity and psycho-moral researches. Some of his research works were published and presented locally and abroad.

Before becoming a consultant, he was first an emergency room supervisor in the Tamparan District Hospital, Lanao del Sur in 2010. 2 years after, he was hired as an assistant professor of Mindanao State University – Buug Campus. In 2015, he became a Science Research Specialist of the National Telehealth Center in the University of the Philippines –Manila.

In 2009, he received his bachelor’s degree in nursing from the Mindanao State University – Main Campus, Marawi City, as cum laude. In his eagerness for specialization, a year after he pursued his master’s degree in nursing at the Liceo de Cagayan University majoring Nursing Administration with doubled specialization in Psychiatric Nursing. In 2016, he took his certificate on advance research e-courses in the University of Alberta, Canada. 

In his commitment for professional advancement, at present, he’s actively connected to various international and national organizations based in Australia, in Nigeria, and even in Surigao del Sur. 

“Jed adds to the depth of skills and knowledge on the PNA National at a time when it is carving out a strong, sustainable future for the national nursing association,” according to Jerome Babate, Society President.
