BNDees at the Helm of Philippine Nursing

Two members of the Beta Nu Delta Nursing Society were recently elected to the upper echelon of the Philippine Nurses Association. 

Prof. Marylou Ong, DScn, DM, RN is chosen as the national chairperson while Dr. Merle Silvani is now the national president.

Dr. Ong is currently the presidential assistant for quality assurance of the Cebu Normal University and for many years, served as dean of nursing of the same university. Previously, she was a national officer of the Association of Deans of the Philippine Colleges of Nursing (ADPCN).

She has two doctoral degrees in management (from the University of the Visayas) and nursing science (Cebu Normal University). Dr. Ong is concurrently the regional governor of the Philippine Nurses Association for Region 7.
 
 
On the other hand, Dr. Silvani is presently a professor in the Masters in Education (M.Ed) program of the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City. Prior to her present
role, she was a nursing faculty member of the same university for 25 years.

She earned her Ph.D in Educational Management from the University of St. La Salle. Dr. Silvani is concurrently the regional governor of the Philippine Nurses Association for Region 6.
