101 Words for the 101th Anniversary of Florence Nightingale

2011 marks the 101th death anniversary of the modern-day nursing founder, Florence Nightingale. Much has changed for nursing in the 100 years since her death.

Nightingale laid the foundation of professional nursing with the establishment, in 1860, of her nursing school at St Thomas' Hospital in London, the first secular nursing school in the world. The Nightingale Pledge taken by new nurses was named in her honour, and the annual International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world on her birthday, May 12th.

As we commemorate the anniversary we invite you to send us your 101 words or 101 characters for what you see as the key achievements of the past 101 years for nursing. Send them to us by email ( secretariat@mail.betanudelta.com)

Prices await to those who will send entries.
