Nightingales on Christmas '09

The Nightingales on Christmas '09 is an annual affair of the Beta Nu Delta Nursing Society Inc. and coincides with the conferment of the Darlene Dilangalen Borromeo Student Nursing Leadership Awards.

The event fell on December 5th which is a turn around of which the previous celebration usually happened on the last week of December. This time we had the occasion at Casa Luisa along J. Catolico Avenue.

There was an induction of professional members (Prof. Jobert Porras of Davao Doctors College and Mrs. Nellie Canda of Jose Catolico Puericulture Center) as well as the awarding of the DDB Student Nursing Leadership prize which went to a nursing student (Ma. Leda Yumang) of Notre Dame of Dadiangas University.

However, the event was truly memorable and enriching because the keynote speaker was very eloquent in his delivery of the current health issues confronting our country today and the obvious scenario of many nurses going abroad. Former congressman, Mario Joyo Aguja, Ph.D told the audience of the world which is badly needing care. A country which hopes for a culture of caring where people will be loved and loved.

Francis Deposa also did a last minute presentation on the business opportunities for Society members.
