St. Camillus Community Health Project at Brgy Olympog

Beta Nu Delta Nursing Society continues to adhere to its long standing commitment to corporate citizenship and national development. The Society continued to demonstrate this corporate responsibility by embarking on a community project dubbed as the St. Camillus Community Health Project at Barangay Olumpog, General Santos City.

The entry activity for this project is the establishment of a 250 sq.m vegetable garden inside the Vizcaya Elementary School which are currently planted with various vegetable seedlings.

To ensure focused intervention, it targetted all the Grades 3 and 4 students including their parents in the tilling, planting and watering of vegetables on a daily basis.

Next intervention will be deworming and feeding. A dental health promotion will be promoted under this project.

By May 2008 will see the provision of school supplies to students who help religiously in the project and livelihood support to supportive parents.
This project is made possible through the coordination of Ms. Edna Peralta, RN who serves as the district school nurse of the Department of Education (DEPED).
Project monitoring will be done by the Chi chapter of General Santos City Doctors Medical School Foundation which is under the leadership of Mr. Clyde Baculio.
