Julius and Angel Aquino Bursary Assistance Program


General Santos City, June 29 - During the first inter-chapter acquaintance party and membership election ceremony of Beta Nu Delta Nursing Society which was held at BJs' Restaurant this city. The NDDU chapter proposed an endowment program to the founding memberof the Society. Thus, the Julius and Angel AquinoBursary Assistance Program was born. The idea of this program is to support the Notre Dameof Dadiangas University’s chapter events such as theBeta Nu Delta Nursing Seminar Series, and VisitingNursing Scholar.
The chapter deems it necessary to connect with the chapter’s alumni members to ensure sustenance of the Society’s campaign within the campus and in the community. In this case, being one of the founding members of the Society, this program will be named after Br. Aquino to ensure high impact commitment.
Under the Julius and Angel Aquino Bursary Assistanceare the two major projects which are the Beta Nu Delta Nursing Seminar Series, and Visiting Nurse Scholar.
The seminar series are activities that are designed to provide update to the Society members and the nursing community on the latest trends in health and in nursing in particular. The chapter may invite resource person for a seminar or workshop. With the bursary support, the chapter will pay for the honorarium and token of appreciation of the resource person.
For the visiting scholar project, the chapter will invite a nursing scholar to deliver a seminar on the topic of choice by the scholar or by the chapter officers. Only one scholar will be named every year.With the bursary support, the fare, accommodation,honorarium of the scholar will be shouldered by the chapter.
Truly, this project will be seen as a pay forwardapproach to the nursing profession and in particular, to the Society.
