NJ Nurse Leader Received Honorary Membership

General Santos City, April 03, 2007 – A prominent New Jersey nurse leader was inducted to the Beta Nu Delta Nursing Society as its honorary member during the 1st NDINAN Nursing Symposium held at the AVR of College of Nursing, Notre Dame of Dadiangas University on April 03, 2007.

Darlene Dilangalen-Borromeo has a string of educational and leadership opportunities after finishing her Nursing degree from the Emilio Aguinaldo College in Manila (formerly Marian College of Nursing). When she settled in the US, Darlene pursued a Sexual Assault Examiner and Minority Nurse Leadership Course from Rutgers University in New Jersey. Darlene is a certified Gerontological, Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse and Administrator, honing her experience in over 10 health care institutions. In 2004, Darlene was a scholar of the Christine Todd Whitman Excellence in Public Service Series, a political, leadership training program for selected women in New Jersey who are active or interested to become more involved in government. She was the immediate past president of the Philippine Nurses Association-New Jersey, Inc. The honorary membership was conferred to Darlene “for demonstrating nursing leadership in the United States thus enhancing the image of the Filipino nurses” according to the Society’s resolution.
